Managing shareholder Jerry M. Markowitz is one of South Florida’s leading business and bankruptcy reorganization law practitioners and mediators. He is currently ranked in Chambers USA, is a 2016 Best Lawyer and was named to the 2015 Top 100 Florida Super Lawyers list and to the 2015 Top 100 Miami Super Lawyers by Super Lawyers Magazine. He is also a 2015 Florida Trend Magazine Legal Elite and 2015 Top Lawyer in South Florida in the South Florida Legal Guide.
Active in the community, Markowitz is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), regional co-chair of the ABI Endowment Fund and co-chair of the ABI Mediation Committee. He is a former president of the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, a founding member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida and a former co-chair of the ABI Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop. In 2015, Markowitz received Lifestyle Media Group’s Leaders in Law Award in the Bankruptcy Law category. In 2013, he received the Thomas Davison, III Memorial Service Award from the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, for outstanding service to the law school.
