The SBA released the long-awaited loan forgiveness application for the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”) on May 15, 2020. While further guidance from the SBA is anticipated, the initial application and related instructions provide PPP borrowers some insight and assistance in preparing for the loan forgiveness process. Borrowers are encouraged to review the application carefully considering that the earliest recipients of PPP loans will become eligible to apply for forgiveness in the very near future.
