MIAMI, FL – April 24, 2017 – Shareholders Jerry Markowitz and Ross Hartog attended the American Bankruptcy Institute 2017 Spring Meeting held at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. from April 20 through April 23, 2017. Markowitz is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute, regional co-chair of the ABI Endowment Fund, and co-chair of the ABI Mediation Committee.
Markowitz is one of South Florida’s leading business and bankruptcy reorganization law practitioners and mediators. He is ranked in Chambers USA, a 2017 Best Lawyer in America and named to the 2016 Top 100 Florida Super Lawyers list and to the Top 100 Miami Super Lawyers by Super Lawyers Magazine. He is also a 2017 Top Lawyer in South Florida in the South Florida Legal Guide and was named to the 2016 Florida Trend Magazine Legal Elite Hall of Fame. Further, he received the Thomas Davison, III Memorial Service Award from the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, for outstanding service to the law school in 2013.
Hartog concentrates on the representation of trustees, creditors, and debtors in cases proceeding under chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, as well as receivers and assignees for the benefit of creditors. He also serves as a chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy trustee in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. Hartog is ranked in Chambers USA, is a 2017 Best Lawyer, 2016 Florida Super Lawyer, a 2016 Florida Trend Magazine’s Florida Legal Elite and he was a finalist in Lifestyle Media Group’s Leaders in Law 2015 Award in the bankruptcy law category.
